Ability to learn

Students aren't the only people who should be learning. I believe its just as important for teachers to be active learners. The world, education, technology, are constantly changing and growing. And our students will be growing up in this environment. If we want to be able to maintain there attention we must be aware of what's going on in their worlds and the world around us. And with this information we can determine what is the best way to gain there focus. Not everyone learns in the same way so its important to learn how to reach every student you have in your classroom and how you can teach them successfully.

Organized

In any profession organization is probably the most important trait to have because you need to be organized to keep up with everything you have done in the past, you are doing, and plan on doing. As a teacher you will come across hundreds of kids and you need to know how all of them are progressing to correctly asses them. Also, as teachers this means you will have tons of paper work so being organized helps keep you up to date and on track with your teaching plan.

Passionate

The dictionary describes the word passion as having "strong emotional feeling or desire" towards something. And every teacher should be passionate about their job. As an active sports participant, I saw first-hand of contagious passion is. Its something that can spread from one person, to an entire group of people. A teachers passion can draw students into whatever the teacher shows interest in. It helps get the attention of students which is so necessary if you want them to learn anything. If your interested and passionate, then it's more likely they will be too.

Caring

After all my years in school I always was closer to the teachers that showed their care for me. It made me feel more comfortable and willing to trust them which in turn got me on board with what they were trying to accomplish. So being a caring teacher is another valuable quality I want to have as I enter into the teaching field. Students need that compassion from teachers and the teachers who give them that love and care tend to win the attention and respect of their students.

Flexibility

Flexibiliy is very important to me as a teacher and as a person. The world is never the same and is always changing, encountering new obstacles on a daily basis. With this being said, old solutions will not always solve these new problems so it is vital for people to be flexible enough to be creative, innovative, and adjustable to various situations. I believe that every teacher must posses this trait in order to be a success teacher in the long run of their teaching careers.
